Unexpected spontaneity
This morning I thought “hmm, I wonder if there are any good movies playing.” and discovered that they’d made a live action version of an Anime I love, that could translate really well to live action: Blood The Last Vampire. So I called up Miller and Narbey and was all “OMFG Playing at Kendall, must go see” so we did…. and it sucked. Well, it wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t good either. And while the fight scenes were decent, the compositing on the CGI monster was so bad that Narbey thought it was stop motion. The anime was barely movie length but they chopped stuff out of that, and added in a whole bunch of other stuff that didn’t help, added plot holes, and resulted in a crap ending.
We needed to cleanse our brains. So we went for a walk on the Esplinade. Then, we came back to my place and made lemon chicken with cheese tortellini, string beans, and carrots. Or, I should say Miller made, because he did, and it rocked. We ate it while watching The Transporter (because we knew in advance it was a good flick). Then we had Narbey inspired fruit for desert.
An excellent and totally unplanned day with friends.
Along the way I shot some video of a wall of ivy waving in the breeze.
It’d be better in HD but hey, it was shot, edited, and uploaded entirely from my phone, which I consider pretty amazing.
