If you’re not aware, XBox just redid its UI and allows people to make avatars, like the one here, they also hooked into Netflix so you can stream movies from your Netflix account for no additional charge.
But, even better, is the fact that Tuesday Left 4 Dead was released. I was looking forward to it because, well, zombies, and I liked the demo, but it sounded like they’d done a lot of work on the online play. Well, tonight I finally played it online and was blown away. The non-online is enjoyable but not something you’ll go tell everyone about. The online play though…. OMFG Awesome. In one variant you and your team play against another team one is zombies the other humans, then it swaps, and you redo the same level and see which team’s humans can get farther and do better with the other trying to thwart them. Each time it goes a little farther through the levels and… well, it’s just a freaking blast.
My recommendation is to play through each campaign in solo mode just so you can take your time and learn where everything is, because you’ll want to know to keep up with your companions, or pounce on your adversaries. They’ve made it trivially easy to hop into a match already in progress if you just want to play and aren’t picky (me), and they’ve made it similarly easy to find, or create, a match just the way you want
I’ve also been playing Mirror’s Edge, which I’ve been enjoying overall, and will write a review about, but now that I’ve discovered how cool L4D is online I fear it may be ages before I finish Mirror’s Edg
Oh, this week? This week is about 2 things. 1) not getting sick again like Sunday and Tuesday morning (Monday was bleh, but not evil). and 2) having fun with video games. I don’t play that often, but when I do, I have a blast. So yeah, you should probably add me to your friends if you’re an xbox owner too. Then we can go kill those zombie bitches together :)
