I asked pretty much everyone I know online about yesterday’s Tarot deck idea. Overall the response was mildly positive, as in “nifty, but not for me”.  Which is pretty much what I was hoping for, since I wouldn’t expect many people to see this style and go “Yeah!”

So, here’s my take on the High Priestess. Yes, I skipped the Magician. I’ve drawn him 3 times now and disliked every attempt. The traditional Rider-Waite version is just so awkward. One arm up. One arm down. A crapload of crap on the table, and a double ended candle which would surely be burning his palm. I think I’m just not able to connect with who the Magician is right now, and as a result, am having trouble bringing out his essence. That’s ok though. There are 69 other cards left to do while I ponder him.
