Happy Birthday Gabriel
Gabriel Tristan Shipps was born today* at 10:43 AM after a short, but fairly unpleasant labor. He weighed 5 pounds 15 ounces, and I fell in love with him the moment I held him. We were all so pooped after the emotional roller coaster of this birth, and the fact that the water broke at about 3 AM, we ended up taking naps. Gabriel slept on my belly while I napped for almost two hours. It was excellent.
Only time will tell how much of a part I will get to play in his life, but I’m hoping it’ll be a big part.
* Actually he was born on the 21st but I draw these at least a day in advance.
